The long-running reality singing competition American Idol returned for its 17th season on ABC last weekend.
Produced by Fremantle and Industrial Media’s 19 Entertainment, American Idol judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie set out to discover a new crop of inspiring singers. Emmy-winning producer Ryan Seacrest returns to host the series and Bobby Bones will take on the role of in-house mentor when the format returns to ABC on March 3 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
In the premiere episode, the panel of judges evaluate a raft of auditions taking place in Louisville, Kentucky, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Los Angeles, New York, and Denver, where hopeful singers will see if they have the chops to earn a golden ticket to Hollywood.
