In France, The A Talk” season 2 has been airing on France 2 since September. It reached a season high in November with a 20.3% share (+36% vs the channel’s season-to-date average).
The commission in Denmark is coming from a raft of options signed by CAN’T STOP, with Warner Bros International TV Production (WBITVP) developping the show in Flemish Belgium and the Netherlands, Fremantle in the Nordics (Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland), Ballandi in Italy, Seapoint in Germany, Avanti in Quebec, Rockerdale Studios in the UK, Mark Fennessy’s Helium in Australia and New Zealand, Banijay in Portugal and Kite Entertainment in Ireland.
Created by QUAD+TEN and Kiosco TV (part of Webedia-owned Elephant Group), and initiated by (France’s most popular movie directors, Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano (“The Intouchables”), “The A Talks” is France 2’s new signature show everybody has been talking about since its release in September.
In each episode, one of the Nation’s most popular celebrities (actor/actress, singer, TV host, politician, athlete) faces a group of 30 atypical journalists with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). All have very different personalities, but one thing in common: a disarming naturalness that is full of truth! Through surprising, unpredictable, sometimes funny or poignant questions, viewers discover celebrities as they have never seen them before! In these questions: no calculations, no traps, but also no taboos and no filters. Faced with these very special interviewers, the guests naturally drop the masks and each meeting becomes a magical moment, out of time, filled with emotion, laughter, poetry and impertinence. The show is also nourished by various artistic sequences (music, poetry, drawing…) delivered by journalists endowed with an unsuspected talent.
“The A Talks” Season 1 strongly outperformed France 2’s average by +26% among 25-49 and +21% among 4+ which led the channel to recommission the format for an additional 10-episode season 2.
“The A Talks” with French President Emmanuel Macron was #1 among all channels with 4,6M live viewers and a 22,5% share (+55% vs France 2’s average). It also became the most watched unscripted show ever, on France.tv, the catch-up platform of the public broadcaster.
