First Take in Rubiera (Reggio Emilia) for The Perfect Boss (Il Capo Perfetto), the 6-episode Netflix series produced by Cattleya, part of ITV Studios.
Filming will later continue in Modena, Sassuolo, and the surrounding areas. Giulio Zagni is The Perfect Boss, the beloved and undisputed king of his steering wheel factory and his family. Friends, relatives, and employees may veer off course, but Giulio is always there to set things right, no matter the cost. However, when this well-oiled machine suddenly falters, the professional and personal life of this exemplary entrepreneur in Italy’s Motor Valley spirals out of control. Amid tragicomic twists and strokes of genius, will Giulio manage to get back on track?
The cast includes Luca Zingaretti (as Giulio Zagni), Francesco Colella, Giovanni Esposito, Alessia Giuliani, Carmine Buschini, Alberto Boubakar Malanchino, Sara Drago, Cristina Cappelli, Sara Mondello, Anna Bisciari, and Cristina Parku.
The series is written by Davide Lantieri (The Bastards of Pizzofalcone, The Big Day), Michele Pellegrini (Imma Tataranni, The Mafia Only Kills in Summer), who also serves as Head Writer, Marco Pettenello (Berlinguer – The Great Ambition, Away Away), Serena Patrignanelli (Electric Rose), and Virginia Virilli (Bang Bang Baby).
Roan Johnson (The Bastards of Pizzofalcone, Feather) directs the first three episodes, while Niccolò Falsetti (Margins) helms the final three. The series is based on The Good Boss, the film by Fernando León de Aranoa, who also contributed the series concept.
