99 da Battere, Italian adaptation of Primitives' game show 99 to Beat, to premiere on Rai 2
On Monday, February 10, 2025, at 9:20pm on Rai 2 debuts 99 da Battere, the new game show hosted by Max Giusti. The format, produced with Endemol Shine Italy, is the Italian adaptation of the Belgian format 99 To Beat, created by VRT and De Chinezen and distributed by Primitives. The format has already been a hit internationally, with adaptations in ten countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, and Norway.

In 99 da Battere, one hundred contestants, aged between 18 and 98, will compete in a series of 99 fun and original challenges, with the sole goal of never finishing last. In each round, the last-placed contestant will be eliminated until only one winner remains, taking home the grand prize of €99,000.

The challenges range from physical skill tests to games of wit and luck. Some of the tasks include whipping cream until it’s firm enough to hold upside down over one's head, finding the exit door while blindfolded, melting an ice cube to retrieve a whistle and blow it, or leaving one's phone on a table and hoping not to be the first to receive a call—which would mean elimination. Some challenges are individual, while others require teamwork.

The studio is designed like an industrial-style arena, with loudspeakers announcing the rules of each game. Over the course of six episodes, viewers will get to know the contestants and the dynamics that develop among them.

"99 da battere" is written by Amato Pennasilico with Paola Arrighi, Igor Artibani, Barbara Calabresi, Alessandro Caroni, Fabrizio Gasparetto, and Elisabetta Valori. The show is directed by Alberto Di Pasquale, with Luca Pennisi as the executive producer for Endemol Shine Italy and Corrado Pacetti as the Rai delegate.
