Newly announced guest or recurring cast members include Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse, winner of 5 BAFTA Awards, as Argus Filch.

The series will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book saga by author J.K. Rowling, who will also serve as executive producer. Featuring a vibrant and talented cast, the series will lead a new generation of fans through the magical world and iconic characters of Harry Potter, cherished by audiences for over 25 years. Exploring every corner of the Wizarding World, each season will bring Harry Potter and his incredible adventures to new viewers and longtime fans alike. The series will stream exclusively on Max in regions where the platform is available globally, including upcoming markets such as Turkey, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy, among others. The original films—beloved classics—will remain at the heart of the franchise and available for viewing worldwide.
The series is written by Francesca Gardiner, who also serves as executive producer. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films will also serve as executive producers.
